Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo is a renowned Buddhist teacher, popular worldwide for her warm, clear and down-to-earth presentation of the Dharma and its application in daily life.
Born in London, she became a Buddhist in her teens and came to India to pursue her spiritual path in 1964, at the age of 20. After meeting her teacher, H.E. Khamtrul Rinpoche, she became one of the first Westerners to ordain as a Tibetan Buddhist nun.
The inspiring story of her life, including twelve years of secluded retreat in a cave in the Himalayas, is the subject of a well-known biography, "Cave in the Snow". Jetsunma is the founder and abbess of Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery near Tashijong, Himachal Pradesh, India.
