July 24-25

Maintaining Sanity and Benefitting Others in a Challenging Era

Venerable Sumati (Kabir Saxena)

In this two day course Venerable Sumati will lead us to explore through talks, meditations and discussions the very skilful and accessible teachings presented in two somewhat contrasting methods of presenting the teachings on liberating ourselves and others.

The first is the way explored by Trungpa Rinpoche,(1939-1987), in his classic Shambhala - The Sacred Path of the Warrior (Shambhala Publications,1984).

The second is the traditional teachings on mind-transformation or Lo-Jong based on the classic Seven-Point Mind Training by great Kadampa master Geshe Chekawa, (1101-1175).

By investigating these two paths we get more than an inkling of how to go about taming our unruly minds and benefitting suffering sentient beings.

Venerable modestly describe himself as "a member of samsara since beginningless time and fortunate to be a student of Lama Zopa Rinpoche since 1979 and a monk since 2002".
