    - learning to read a film, understand its nuances, narrative styles and the art of it
    - watching and discussing different kinds of cinema - world cinema, documentary, and shorts
    - relationship between media and society - who determines content, issues of censorship
    - relevance of sound and music in films
    - Social and Creative engagements and experiments in films today

Film-making workshop: 20th  - 24th June 2012

- Medium of film - how an idea is transformed into a visual story
- Process of film making - scripting, storyboarding, shooting, editing

 For whom: This workshop is for anyone with an interest in films. Individuals, students, professional, NGO’s and whosoever keen on making films with just a camera and a laptop!

Workshop Costs:
Film Appreciation workshop: Rs 4000, max participants 30
Film making workshop: Rs 7500, max participants 20

Workshop facilitators
Ankit Pogula is an independent filmmaker and trainer, based out of Delhi. An
alumnus of Mass Communication and Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia, Ankit has
been using film as a medium to engage with urban and rural youth over the last 8 years
on issues of Identity, Relationships, Development and Environment. He has also been
facilitating filmmaking and value & peace education workshops across India for
different organisations, students, teachers and professionals.

Sachi Maniar is a filmmaker based out of Mumbai. She has been making
documentaries, music videos, commercials and short films. She was selected as a Metta
Mentors Fellow 2009 at Berkley, U.S., where she made a feature length documentary
on non-violence. Sachi is passionate about service, travelling, trekking and

Vinod Sreedhar is a music composer and a social entrepreneur based in India.
Over the years, He has worked on a wide gamut of issues from social activism aimed at reducing civic apathy, to creating awareness about ecological living among the youth. He has composed music for many ads, short films and documentaries.

Sushant Arora is has studied Cinematography at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII, Pune). He also studied Mass Communication from I.P. University in Delhi and made films with organisations like Pravah and Beyond Borders (British Council). Over the last few years Sushant has been working as part of the camera team in Mumbai on various feature films and advertising productions.
