SUMMARY:Khenpo Sonam Tsewang – CANCELED!
DESCRIPTION:Sorry for the inconvenience,We apologies for any inconvenience caused. Due the health issue  of Khenpo Sonam Tsewang, we have to cancel this teaching.\n \nThe great Indian Buddhist master Vasubandhu said:\nFor those who have not abandoned afflictive emotions,\nWhen objects are near\nAnd the thinking is not correct,\nLets the negative emotions arise.\n \nKleshas or negative emotions disturb our peace of mind. They obscure us in seeing the reality and thus lead us to negativities – thoughts and actions – that result in samsaric pain, dukkha. Negative emotions do not arise without causes and conditions. They are not infused to us by some external forces or powers. They are caused by our incorrect way of thinking. Our incorrect way of thinking make us see –  permanence in things that are impermanent, bliss and pleasure in things that are suffering and pain in nature, purity in things that are impure and above all self or identity in things that are selfless, identity-less and empty.\nHow do we correct our way of thinking? By praying, wishing or reciting mantra? No, not at all.\nOur way of thinking should be corrected through training our minds. In Buddhism, out of the two modes of meditation, analytical meditation is needed here. We should analyse the nature of things using our sense of reasoning and rationalisation. We should establish truth through investigation. Investigation here doesn’t mean just intellectual thinking. Here investigation means deep thinking, reflection and contemplation that makes our mind become one with the reality of phenomena.\n Mipham Rinpoche, a great 19-20th century Nyingma master, in his beautiful short text called Wheel of Analytical Meditation, clearly explains in depth about how to correct our way of thinking through step by step analytical meditation. Let us explore this great wisdom and see how we can teach ourselves to overcome this incorrect way of thinking.\n Wheel of Analytical Meditation (Tib. དཔྱད་སྒོམ་འཁོར་ལོ་མ་, Chegom Khorloma; Wyl. ( http://www.rigpawiki.org/index.php?title=Wyl. ) dpyad sgom ‘khor lo ma) — a text on analytical meditation ( http://www.rigpawiki.org/index.php?title=Analytical_meditation ) composed by Mipham Rinpoche ( http://www.rigpawiki.org/index.php?title=Mipham_Rinpoche ) in 1891. \n \nKhenpo Sonam Tsewang is a khenpo (equivalent of Professor of Buddhism) at Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, the advanced center of philosophical study at Namdroling Monastery, Bylakkuppe. He finished his graduation in Buddhism from Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi and also from Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, Namdroling. He has translated for His Holiness Penor Rinpoche and Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche on many occasions. He published English translations of books such as “How to Follow a Spiritual Master”, “The All Pervading Melodious Sound of Thunder : the Outer Liberation Story of Terton Migyur Dorje” and “Drops of Nectar”. He was enthroned as a Khenpo (equivalent of Professor of Philosophy) at Namdroling Monastery in 2010 by His Holiness Karma Kuchen Rinpoche. Khenpo Sonam travels extensively with his root Guru, Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche, for international teaching tours. In the process, he is also receiving close personal guidance and spiritual instructions from Khen Rinpoche.\n
