SUMMARY:Mindful Travel Writing: Navigating Our Outer and Inner Worlds led by Shivya Nath (Registration closed)
DESCRIPTION:This travel writing workshop is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with our creative selves, and learn to craft stories that have a positive impact on the places and people we visit. Away from the temptation of using AI and the rush of social media, we’ll contemplate our purpose as travellers and storytellers, reflect on our interconnectedness in an increasingly fragile and fragmented world, and find ways to turn the journeys we take across the world (and within) into words.\nThe workshop will take place over 4 days, and create the space to nurture the traveller and writer within us. Sessions will include mindfulness spaces, active observation, quiet writing time and collective reading. Depending on the inclination of the participants, we might delve into the practicalities of publishing, including pitching and the editorial process, as well as ways to build a consistent writing practice.\nThe workshop will begin at 9:30 am on 29th April and end late evening on 2nd May. Participants are requested to take a break from their digital devices and embrace the joy of writing in a notebook during the workshop. Conscious plant-based eating, digital minimalism and time for self-reflection are encouraged during these four days. No prior experience in travel writing is required.\nMaximum participants: 15\nAbout the facilitator\nShivya Nath is an award-winning travel writer and passionate advocate for slow, meaningful travel.
